Healthy eating is not only what you eat but also how you eat. It is consuming all the basic amounts of nutrients. Nutrients are derived from a number of foods. Healthy eating is taking a balanced diet. A balanced diet comprises of proteins meant for body building, growth and repair. Its sources are milk, egg, beans, and peas. There are also carbohydrates that are energy giving foods. These are mainly starch-like foods, like corn, bread, potatoes, rice and spaghetti. Then vitamins are required in small quantities and they comprise of vitamin A, B, C D and E. Its main sources are green vegetables, carrots, vegetable juice, broccoli, kale lettuces, tomatoes and fruits.

There are fats that are also a source of energy and contain fat soluble vitamins. Fat is stored beneath the skin to keep us warm. Sources of fat will include vegetable oil, low fat salad dressing and mayonnaise. There are mineral salts like calcium that enable us to have strong teeth and bones. There is iodine and iron, which is required to make hemoglobin. We also need fiber in our body to help in the process of digestion in our intestines. A balanced diet should be taken in the correct proportions in order to be healthy.

Water is also plays a major role in health and nutrition. It helps in metabolization of fat and eliminates wastes. The function of water in our body is to carry nutrients, transport waste and lubricate joints. If you do not have enough water you might suffer from dehydration making you feel sick and tired.

Taking a balanced diet and water is not enough to have good health. You also need to do some exercises. Exercises help you to get rid of excess fats and leave you feeling energized. There are many exercises you can do from walking, swimming, dancing and racing. When you are just getting started, try doing the simple ones that your body can be accustomed to. Exercises should be taken systematically as over-restraining your body can cause abrupt health problems. When you are used to exercising, maintain it from 30-40 minutes, three to four days a week. At the start, try doing your exercises around twenty minutes in three days.

Health can also be determined by your social activities and the way you relate with other people. It is believed that a positive attitude and good relations with other people will result to making you feel good about yourself, and therefore staying healthy. If you can also handle stress in a good way without letting if affect other activities, then you are going to maintain your healthy self.

Another good way of staying healthy is by maintaining hygiene. This is keeping your body clean in order to prevent infections and illnesses. If you eat clean food, you will not get sick. Bathing also washes away germs and reduces the chances of getting infections.

Many people under-estimate the benefits of sleep to good health. Sleep is also a part of staying healthy. We should always get enough sleep every day 7-8 hours. Lack of sleep is a risk and it can cause heart disease or a stroke.
